Research overview

Tesamorelin is a 44-amino-acid analog of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone with a trans-3-hexenoic acid group on the N-terminus that protects it from DPP-4 cleavage. It is an active pharmaceutical ingredient in an approved prescription product in another context; the material offered here is a research reference standard only.

Research use centers on GHRH-receptor pharmacology and the relationship between the GH/IGF-1 axis and visceral adipose tissue.

Areas of published research

  • GHRH-receptor signaling and GH/IGF-1 axis research
  • Visceral adipose tissue models
  • Peptide stability and DPP-4 resistance studies

The list above summarises where this compound appears in the scientific literature. It describes research activity, not properties or effects of any product sold here.

Storage and handling

  • Lyophilized vials: store at −20 °C for long-term storage, or 2–8 °C for up to several weeks. Keep sealed and protected from light.
  • Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening, so moisture does not condense on the cold powder.
  • After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8 °C and use within 28 days. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
  • Add diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently; do not shake.

Documentation

Each lot is tested by an independent laboratory for purity (RP-HPLC) and identity (mass spectrometry). The certificate of analysis for your lot ships with the order; copies for any lot can be requested through the contact page with the lot number from the vial label.
