Research overview

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that acts as an agonist at the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a), the receptor for ghrelin. Early characterization in animal models reported growth-hormone release with little effect on cortisol or prolactin, which made it a frequently used tool compound for receptor-selectivity research.

Supplied as a research reference material for receptor-pharmacology and endocrine-signaling studies.

Areas of published research

Storage and handling

  • Lyophilized vials: store at −20 °C for long-term storage, or 2–8 °C for up to several weeks. Keep sealed and protected from light.
  • Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening, so moisture does not condense on the cold powder.
  • After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8 °C and use within 28 days. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
  • Add diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently; do not shake.

Documentation

Each lot is tested by an independent laboratory for purity (RP-HPLC) and identity (mass spectrometry). The certificate of analysis for your lot ships with the order; copies for any lot can be requested through the contact page with the lot number from the vial label.
