Thymosin β4 actin-binding fragment used in wound-healing and cardiac-repair research.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Sold only to purchasers 21 or older who accept the research use policy.
TB-500 is a synthetic version of the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4), a 43-amino-acid protein present in nearly all mammalian cells. The fragment supplied here is the N-acetylated heptapeptide LKKTETQ, corresponding to residues 17–23 of Tβ4.
Thymosin β4 sequesters monomeric G-actin and has been studied extensively in dermal wound healing, corneal epithelial repair and post-infarction cardiac models. The short fragment is the portion most often cited for actin-related activity in cell-based assays.
The list above summarises where this compound appears in the scientific literature. It describes research activity, not properties or effects of any product sold here.
