Research overview

Thymosin alpha-1 is an N-acetylated 28-amino-acid peptide originally isolated from thymic tissue. It has been studied extensively as an immunomodulator, with research on T-cell maturation, dendritic-cell activation and Toll-like-receptor signaling. A pharmaceutical form is used clinically in some jurisdictions.

The material offered here is a research reference standard for immunology work and is not a drug product.

Areas of published research

  • T-cell differentiation and maturation assays
  • Dendritic-cell and TLR signaling studies
  • Immune-response models in infection and oncology research

The list above summarises where this compound appears in the scientific literature. It describes research activity, not properties or effects of any product sold here.

Storage and handling

  • Lyophilized vials: store at −20 °C for long-term storage, or 2–8 °C for up to several weeks. Keep sealed and protected from light.
  • Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening, so moisture does not condense on the cold powder.
  • After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8 °C and use within 28 days. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
  • Add diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently; do not shake.
